Peace Wapiti Public School Division is extremely grateful to the Iceberg Tournament and its organizers for the generous donation to the Division’s mental health resources.
The Iceberg Tournament, founded in 2017, aims to raise funds for and awareness of children’s mental health. The organization’s website says, “All tournament proceeds provide direct funding for mental health assessments. This has allowed children to receive ed-psych evaluations much faster than the typical wait time … as well as help with the cost which can be as high as $2,500 for one evaluation.”
This year’s tournament, held during the last weekend of March, was the biggest tournament to date with 14 teams. Since its inception, the annual tournament has raised nearly $50,000 through ticket raffles, 50/50 draws, tournament vendors and direct donations.
